Rodrigo Fernandes, Senior Consultant at Bentley Systems, holds a degree, an MSc and a PhD in environmental modelling.
He has more than 18 years’ experience in applied technologies and software development in environmental modelling and operational systems, mostly in coastal areas, and more recently in urban water cycle.
Rodrigo has worked in the conceptualization, design, preparation and management of more than 20 European innovation projects, mostly related to the application of modelling tools for the management of water resources, environmental safety, preparedness & response.
He is also the main developer and creator of oil and chemical spill weathering modules in the MOHID modelling system. Authored more than 30 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and international conference papers.
As Senior Consultant in Bentley he is presently developing and supporting Bentley products for the global water market, as well as managing EU-funded projects under the same scope. He is involved in the development team of the recently released software product OpenFlows FLOOD – a complete flood modelling software for understanding and mitigating flood risks in urban, riverine, and coastal areas.
